Knit one, purl one, cast off. If you have even the faintest idea what those words mean, then you already possess the passport to a veritable Valhalla of creativity that’s known as Threads & More.
If it’s crafty, creative and well-made you’re after, then it’s a sure bet you’ll find it at West End’s Nook. Don Draper meets Pepé le Pew behind Galerie Montmartre’s roller-doored warehouse space, just off Brunswick Street. Here a mammoth collection of vintage French advertising posters awaits, sure to make the most jaded graphic design fiend go weak at the knees.
If you were to look up ‘Treasure Trove’ in an encyclopaedia, chances are you’d find Woolloongabba Antique Centre (WAC). Brainchild of sisters Sarah Jane and Megan, these two lovely local ladies have used their prowess in retro retail and set design to create a sublimely colourful and true-to-form vintage experience. This is no exaggeration either: the simple act of entering the store is enough to blow your senses right out.
